Kudurru License Server Source-Viewing License

1. Covered material

This notice applies to the Licensor-controlled source code, templates, layouts, styling, graphics, images, content, copy, build configurations, and other material expressly placed under it within the repository's license-server/ directory, which contains Kudurru license issuance, entitlement management, administrative functions, and related service code (License Server Source).

It does not govern the Kudurru DNS server, the enterprise modules under ee/, the documentation project under site/ that powers https://docs.kudurru.io, or the marketing website under www/. Those materials have separate license terms. Third-party materials identified by separate notices retain their own licenses, as do any earlier releases under different licenses.

2. Public source inspection

The License Server Source is published so the public can view and inspect its source. The copyright holder permits a person to access and display the source through the public repository and to make transient technical copies reasonably necessary to browse it, or one personal local copy solely for private inspection, security review, or evaluation.

No permission is granted to run, deploy, host, publish, distribute, sublicense, modify, prepare derivative works of, sell, or commercially exploit the License Server Source, in whole or in substantial part, other than the limited inspection rights expressly stated above or permissions independently provided by applicable law.

Public repository visibility, a successful download, a git clone, or a successful local build does not create any additional permission. A local inspection copy must not be operated as a publicly or privately hosted reproduction of the license server.

3. Brand, imagery, and content

All rights in Kudurru trademarks, names, logos, artwork, trade dress, and domain names are reserved. The inspection permission above grants no right to use them in a product, service, publication, or identity that implies affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement.

Quoting brief passages, discussing the design of the code, reporting vulnerabilities, or otherwise exercising rights independently allowed under applicable law is not prohibited by this notice.

4. License keys, cryptographic materials, and services

No right is granted to deploy or operate a replacement Kudurru license-issuance service, impersonate an official licensing endpoint, issue or sign purported official license keys, or reproduce the Licensor's hosted entitlement infrastructure by using License Server Source.

The right to obtain, install, and locally validate legitimate Kudurru license keys in licensed Kudurru software is governed by the applicable Kudurru community or commercial terms and is not restricted by this source-viewing notice. Reading public API documentation or interacting with an official hosted licensing endpoint as authorized by that service likewise does not require a license to the License Server Source.

Private cryptographic signing keys, credentials, deployment secrets, and customer records are not intended to be distributed with public source. No rights to such materials are granted or implied.

5. Automated copying and machine learning

The Licensor grants no additional license to create redistributed datasets, public source mirrors, or substantially similar hosted licensing services using the License Server Source, including by automated collection or generative tools. This paragraph does not create restrictions beyond the copyright and other rights Licensor actually holds or limit statutory exceptions.

6. Rights reserved; permission requests

All rights not expressly granted are reserved. Anyone wishing to adapt, run, operate, test by execution, redistribute, reproduce, or reuse the License Server Source should request prior written authorization from hello@kudurru.io.

Authorized project maintainers may work with License Server Source under separate employment, contractor, or written contribution terms. Submitting an unsolicited pull request does not itself grant the submitter a license to use or deploy the License Server Source outside the scope of this notice, nor does it transfer ownership of a contribution.

7. Disclaimers

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LICENSE SERVER SOURCE IS PROVIDED “AS IS,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, AND THE LICENSOR DISCLAIMS LIABILITY ARISING FROM ACCESS OR INSPECTION OF IT.

Nothing in this notice restricts permissions expressly given by an applicable third-party license or mandatory rights under law. The notice does not revoke preexisting license rights to earlier versions.

Summary (nonoperative): Source visible; inspection permitted; no general right to build, modify, redistribute, clone, self-host, or operate the Kudurru license-issuance server. This is not an OSI-approved open-source license.
